We have now come to the end of our summit: Let me, therefore, thank you, Alejandro, for this excellent preparation and these impressive pictures from your beautiful country. For the last two years we have been working under the motto "From Guadalajara to Vienna"; for the next two year the motto will be "From Vienna to Peru". We feel very comfortable as your country is as mountainous as Austria, although most of your mountains are much higher than ours here in Austria; and let me point out another similarity- we both share the same flag colours: red white red. We are indeed looking forward to what you will offer to us in 2008.
I would like to thank all the participants for their attendance. I direct my thanks to all heads of states, prime ministers, ministers, special guests, and delegates for having come to Vienna and having actively participated in this conference. I thank the media representatives for their interest in this summit. I am very much aware that without their coverage this event would have ended up as a non-event. It would have meant tremendous work but only few responses. I further want to thank Austria's Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik for her dedicated work which she has done in cooperation with all the other foreign ministers from both regions; and the same is also true for our diplomatic staff.
Now coming to the end, we have to adopt the Vienna Declaration. I am particularly glad to announce that after extensive negotiations an agreement could be reached between the European Union and the Andean Community. This agreement will be included in our final document. As previously agreed we insert this text into paragraph 31 of this summit document which in every respect is now a very complete and comprehensive document. This reference concerns future negotiations between the Andean community and the EU about an association agreement. I have now the honor and the pleasure to formally announce, if there are no objections, that the Vienna Declaration is adopted by consensus of all heads of states and governments of the EU, Latin America and the Caribbean.
