Haubner: EU Youth Ministers to discuss employment and the future in Bad Ischl

The theme "youth employment" will be on the political agenda of the European Union this week too. On Wednesday and Thursday, the town of Bad Ischl will be the venue for the informal meeting of EU youth ministers hosted by Ursula Haubner, President of the Youth Council. The youth event, which will be attended by around 100 youth delegates from the 25 EU countries, is being held in Vienna and Bad Ischl. The events will centre on the themes "youth and work", "value and significance of life-long learning" and "the future of youth in Europe".

The conference will begin with the opening of the youth event on Tuesday in the AIRO Hotel in Vienna-Oberlaa in the presence of 100 youth representatives and State Secretary Sigisbert Dolinschek. In the evening, the federal youth association is hosting a social “get-in” in the Vienna Urania.

On Wednesday, the venue moves to Bad Ischl, where Minister Haubner and the youth representatives will hold a joint press conference at 16.00 in the ‘Kongress- und Theaterhaus’ conference centre. In the evening, the mayor of Bad Ischl, Helmut Haas, is hosting a reception in the ‘Trinkhalle’ of Bad Ischl.

Work begins in earnest on Thursday: following the performance of a youth anthem composed specially for the occasion by the Upper Austrian youth brass band, from 9.30 the youth delegates will present their demands in the form of a declaration to the EU ministers.

The ministers and youth representatives will then meet in joint working groups, the results of which will be presented at the closing plenary in the late afternoon
