With the organisational support of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, the Vienna Boys’ Choir gave two concerts in Armenia and Georgia to mark the end of the Austrian EU Presidency. These were the first performances in the South Caucasus by the Choir, which sang to a full opera house in both capitals. Representatives of the diplomatic corps and the government attended the concerts which, in addition to the music of Haydn, also featured works by Mozart and world music. This was a fitting finale to the Austrian Presidency, which set a new trend in the South Caucasus with a political visit to the region by the EU Troika under the leadership of State Secretary Hans Winkler in April of this year.
