Press conference - European Aviation Summit in Salzburg

Gorbach invites to an EU Aviation Summit from 3 to 5 May

Vice-Chancellor Hubert Gorbach is issuing an invitation in his capacity as Council Presidency to a European Aviation Summit on 3-5 May 2006 in Salzburg. The main theme of the Aviation Summit is the removal of barriers to competition in the European aviation industry, and the signing of aviation agreements with the countries of the Western Balkans. A highlight will be the signing of aviation agreements between the EU Member States and the European Commission.

The significance of this event is underscored by the list of participants: EU Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot, Giovanni Bisignani, CEO IATA, Wolfgang Mayerhuber, CEO Lufthansa and Matthias Ruete from the European Commission.
